Charting a Course Through COVID-19

A Message from Aquatic Adventures

As concerns over COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) continue to grow, I, on behalf of our entire staff, want to keep you informed of what we are doing to keep you and our staff safe. Things are changing daily for us, and many of these changes will impact both our employees and our customers.

First, I want to thank everyone for their support of our business over the last 20 years. You are the reason we are here, and you will be the reason we will be here after this situation resolves. I also want to pledge that no matter what happens in the future, you will not see Aquatic Adventures waiver from its core values. Among those values are a commitment to safety, superior customer service, a well-stocked store, protection of our underwater environment, and having the most qualified dive instructors, salespeople and service technicians in the business.

Next, Aquatic Adventures will attempt to stay open during normal businesses hours provided our staff stays healthy and there are no government directives to close. You may see a more limited staff as we try to protect our employees by having them work in small teams. Each team will work an entire day, and a new team will work the following day.

In addition, we are asking customers and employees to practice social distancing and refrain from physical contact such as handshaking. Customers and employees are being asked to clean their hands before touching any product. We are cleaning countertops, credit card readers, door handles and equipment after every customer comes into the store. We are also asking both customers and employees to stay home if they are not feeling well.

Further, we are asking that all students own their own mask and snorkel and that they do not share their mask and snorkel with others. We will be providing new mouthpieces to anyone renting a regulator, and we have been disinfecting regulators and wetsuits after they are used.

Aquatic Adventures will continue to practice these new policies until the risk of transmission is over.

Upcoming Classes

Currently we are facing a challenge with finding a pool for training. Starting on March 18, all of the pools where we currently have relationships will close. The hope is that most would reopen in coming weeks, but the situation is fluid and there are no guarantees. We ask that you remain patient and flexible as we work to reschedule your classes.

Given the current situation, Aquatic Adventures will allow anyone to transfer classes without penalty until this is over. I would also ask that everyone remain flexible regarding current schedules as there are too many unknowns for us to predict how things will go. As soon as we are aware a course must be rescheduled, we will let you know.

Online Classes and Seminars

As many of you are aware, portions of some scuba classes can be taken online. If you are interested in taking an online class, let us know. Currently we offer online training for Beginning Scuba, Advanced Open Water, Enriched Air, Equipment Specialist, ReActivate/Scuba Review, Rescue Diver, and Underwater Digital Photography. These courses are a great way for you to continue to learn regardless of other events. Call us at (262) 938-6827 to discuss these options.

In addition, Aquatic Adventures is looking into running free live seminars. We hope these seminars will help keep everyone’s spirit high with thoughts of getting out diving. Follow us on social media and look for emails and updates on https://diveaai.com.

A Look to the Future

Our dive season is scheduled to officially begin on May 2. That weekend is just a few weeks away. While the immediate future looks uncertain, we soon will be back doing what we love. Scuba diving is what brought all of us together, and together we will make it through the challenges of COVID-19.

From our family at Aquatic Adventures to your family—may you stay healthy and safe.
