Start your journey into dive leadership by signing up for the PADI Divemaster course today.

The PADI Divemaster course will prepare you for a professional career in recreational scuba. You will learn how to plan professionally led dives, manage other divers in the water and serve as a certified assistant to PADI instructors during training activities. In addition, you will be asked to demonstrate your mastery of scuba skills, rescue techniques, and swimming proficiency.

The PADI Divemaster course also consists of an academic component where you will be expected to demonstrate a knowledge of training standards, dive physics, physiology, scuba equipment, decompression theory, and the use of both the DSAT dive tables and the eRDPML.

As PADI Divemasters are able to teach courses such as Discover Scuba Diving, Scuba Review, and Skin Diver, part of your training will also include workshops where you will practice conducting these courses.

Rounding out your training is open water practical application. Here you will practice setting up a dive site for training, map a dive site, prepare and deliver a diver briefing, and conduct a Divemaster led dive.

Students who complete the Divemaster course are able to submit an application to PADI to become PADI members.

Course Schedule

The PADI Divemaster program at Aquatic Adventures is largely independent study, and the schedule is tailored to meet the needs of each candidate. Students can begin training at any time, but we encourage those wishing to get formal training in the general theory portion of the course to register in January when we offer the Advanced Dive Theory specialty course. This course is offered free of charge to all students registered for our Divemaster program.

Prerequisites

What’s Included in the Course Fee

Our course fee includes the following:

  • Classroom training
  • Divemaster crew kit
  • Confined water and open water dives conducted under the direction of a PADI instructor
  • Use of tanks and weights

What’s Not Included

  • We do not include application fees.
  • We do not include course DVDs. Most PADI specialties require you to view a video. Check with one of our training consultants by calling (262) 938-6827 to find out if this course requires you to view a DVD. If so, you can elect to purchase a DVD from Aquatic Adventures or come to the store to watch the video prior to your classroom session or open water dives.
  • We do not include personal gear (mask, snorkel, boots, and fins) as you should have purchased these items during your Open Water Diver course. There is a student discount on purchasing these items when you buy from Aquatic Adventures if you do not own them. See our How to Purchase Mask, Snorkel, Fins pages for more information or call us at (262) 938-6827.
  • We do not include basic life support equipment. If you do not own your own wetsuit or dry suit, regulator, or BCD, we do provide a discounted student rate for you to rent these items. Ask your training consultant at the time of registration what these rates will be. Standard rental rates can be found on this website on our Rent Scuba Equipment page.
  • We do not include entrance fees to dive sites. This includes but is not limited to park entrance fees, travel, charters, or parking fees as these fees can vary and are not under our control.

If you are interested in entering the Divemaster program at Aquatic Adventures, email us at training@diveaai.com or call us at 262-938-6827 to schedule a time to meet with our director of training.
