Lake Wazee in Black River Falls, Wisconsin is one of our favorite places to dive. Not only is there Caribbean-like visibility but it is one of the deepest lakes in Wisconsin. The lake is a refurbished iron quarry. There are remnants left from the quarrying days that are visible underwater. There are various fish in the lake as well as a few platforms for divers use. There is lots to see in the quarry and a beach above the water for comfortable surface intervals. This lake has challenging dives for advanced divers as well as simpler dives for beginners. Camping is also available on site for a fun weekend at the lake.
IMPORTANT: Dive fees and parking fees are required for all divers at the park. You must pay these fees before entering the lake. If no attendant is present you can self register at the contact station.
